The story begins in 1978 when Guglielmo Bortolomiol leaves the family business that saw him among the pioneers of Prosecco since the 1950s, to found the Spumanti Gemin di Valdobbiadene.
Guglielmo, who bears the same name as his father, was called Gemin from an early age; that's why he decides to give this name to his new company.
Name chosen to follow up on the family tradition that already affectionately indicated the love for one's land and its values.
Since 1985 there has been a continuous expansion of the company, with the construction of a new crushing cellar and a new packaging and storage warehouse.
Spumanti Gemin is flanked by the Prà dell'Ort farm which has five hectares of vineyards in the most strategic positions between Riva de Milan, San Vito and San Marco, considered among the most evocative of Valdobbiadene.
1999 marks a first decisive turning point, Paola Bortolomiol and her husband Alvio Stramare take over the management of the company maintaining the values of Guglielmo but making continuous improvements: from the renovation of the headquarters, to new technologies for the transformation of wine, to the expansion of the vineyards to new replanting and sophisticated irrigation systems.
However, the family remains at the center of everything: Paola and Alvio in turn flanked by their children Luigi, future winemaker and the twins Elisabetta and Luca, a continuity is guaranteed that passes on the goodness of a wine that must be enjoyed with the heart.
Today the company, already known and appreciated in many countries of Europe and the United States, aims to open and develop new markets with the aim of maintaining a quality product over time.
